Any Chance of Ward/Froch II in 2014?

    What do you guys think?

Is this fight a REAL possibility for 2014, considering by then Froch will have tsopped groves and effectively cleared the division whereas Ward has three options for a big payday, the rematch or face either Chavez/GGG or move up to 175 and fight Stevenson/Kovalev/Hopkins.

I doubt the 175 option comes through and unless the Martinez fight has ZERO chance of happening I doubt GGG will move up, the Chavez fight is a real possibility but if Ward wants to be taken seriously again, surely Froch is the only way to go, followed by a move up?

I don't like where Ward has headed since Froch, there's been the Dawson debacle and then the lay off and now a b list "boxer" in Rodriguez. Chavez or GGG would be the last straw for me.

Only if he goes to the UK.
If not... Froch has the Bute rematch still, a third Kessler fight and a possible Golovkin fight. Chavez Jr. possible too, but probably in Vegas

Let's be honest man, Froch doesn't really want it. He knows he can't beat Ward and he'd rather just keep calling him boring and saying stuff in the media rather then have to see Ward in the ring again.

Why do people still bring up this fight? Ward won convincingly. There are plenty of other possibilities for each fighter going forward. It seems Froch has moved on, maybe we should too.

HOnestly, because they think Froch can win again in the UK.... I wonder why?
I remember a lot of his backers were calling Ward a pussy for not going there

what makes u say Froch don't want it? The only person I hear calling Ward out, since the first fight is Froch. ward only ever said once, in all the countless interviews that he wanted to fight Froch. Every other time he just says some things that don't answer the question LOL

If Froch hadn't done such a demolition job on Bute the Ward rematch would have happened already. But then Froch gained stratospheric levels of bargaining power whereas Ward has festered, especially with no one really taking interest in the Dawson bout. Since then Froch has beaten Kessler and is now fighting one of the best prospects at 168.

Ward has done....nothing and is now fighting Rodriguez.

I'm disappointed in him, he has skill and talent but he needs to start taking risks.

why? because these are the two best 168lb fighters on the planet and as long as the two are still fighting at the weight and one of them claims to be the absolute best, shouldn't he fight the second best? Froch has staked an even bigger claim by obliterating Bute (considered at the time as the best SMW on the planet not named Ward) and then taken care of another rematch in a very very good victory.

If Ward wants to stay at super middle, he's gona have to start fighting better opponents than Rodriguez and Froch is the best. Plus, since when does losing one fight stop a rematch, it's such crap from ******, ***gity assed fools who only started watching boxin post-Oscar v Floyd/Manny that pisses me off. Rematches are part and parcel of the sport and there have been plenty of them following one sided drubbings. Why? because the two best available guys HAVE to fight each other.

I wouldn't mind Ward skipping out on the rematch if he fought someone worthwhile, took a risk, moved up to light heavy and gained a title there, maybe fought a huge puncher in Kovalev. But no, what we get are Dawson and Rodriguez

Another sorry, wasted American boxing hopeful.

Oh and what makes you say froch has moved on? he has called Ward out on multiple occasions. maybe u should start following the sport a bit more fool

who took a sh.it in your cereal, bro? by the way you get so worked up i'm not sure you can discuss this without bias. I like Froch and I didnt say anything caustic.

But to your points...sure rematches are part of the sport, when justified. There was nothing about their first fight that indicated the fight would not play out the same way. Froch's style hasnt changed. Yes he called out Ward but then he got back to doing what he does best. Ward's inactivity and talk do not in any way justify these two running it back.

Ward is to Froch as Rigo is to Donaire.

The rematch is justified. Froch has earned it. He obliterated a guy that Ward refused to fight and then avenged his only other "loss" against Kessler. There isn't really anyone else Froch could beat at 168, he has made himself the clear number 2 in the division again.

As for will this fight happen? I'm not so sure it will happen soon. I can see both guys battling it out for a Chavez Jr fight because of the payday.
