Wait until he whips no chin Rigondeux.
Donaire fails to impress.

I rather give Vic credit. He was fighting a disciplined fight and was starting to get more and more confident in himself, opening up more than he should've and just then Donaire stepped on the gas. Donaire lost a decision to Rigo, not like he was knocked out in his last fight. Perhaps some of his confidence diminished but it's not a valid excuse against a guy he already stopped. Enough people, give Vic some credit.Comment

I wonder what happens when Donaire fights an actual featherweight. It will be interesting to see him against a guy like Walters, I don't think his one power will be as much of a factor at 126.
He needs to develop a more offensive style, not everyone fights like Arce...Comment

His career is definitely not over but I don't see him ever cracking the top ten P4P again. It's obvious that he just wasn't the same fighter in there with Rigondeaux and certainly not Darchinyan.
@ the Mick quote!
I don't think it has anything to do with being civilized though. He took an L for the first time, it seemed to have an affect. Lost some of that magic he had. He could've also been having a little bit of a bad night -- that's a point not everyone takes into consideration.
He still has a career, but I think the road is going to get tougher for him. Because every future fighter will be studying all these flaws that have been exposed. And they will try to capitalize on them.Comment

Rigondeaux has grown all he could, just because he only has 12 fights doesn't mean he is new to boxing, the guy has being fighter for over 25 years and in actuality he is an 118 pounder fighting at 122, so stop with the move up $h1t because he is a very small fighter one division north of his natural weight, garcia has plenty of challenges ahead he could fight Gamboa now, seems to me that he is as ready as he ever going to be and Yuriorquis is in decline...So your saying Donaire was so great at that weight after struggling with Vazquez Jr. and Matthebula?
If Vazquez Jr. and Mathebula are some of the best in and around that division? If so, its a piss poor division and Rigo needs to man up and move up. Clearly he's way too good for that division, and he's too boring for anyone to care to watch him put on clinics against lesser competition.
He's been saying the same things after all his fights few fights, expect Nishioka. He struggled with Mathebula, Vazquez, and Narvaez, and his excuse afterwards was "I didn't listen to my corner, I didn't jab, I wanted to land a big punch, etc. etc. etc..."
Like I said, Rigo may have been the nail in the coffin, but whatever distracted him outside the ring prior to the fight has been there a while... The flaws were there before the Rigo fight
Lol, I think your over emotional response caused u to forget what I was saying... I'm not arguing whether Rigo took his soul, what I'm arguing is whether Rigo taking his soul is such a great accomplishment... How does "Rigo is overrated" connect to the soul taking discussion?
All I'm saying is, Rigo is good, but is he as good as beating Donaire made him look? Donaire was clearly overrated, so how does Rigo get all this credit for beating him? (Becuz he was the underdog...
)
Like I said, Rigo needs to move up in weight and fight some other "special" fighter like Mikey Garcia before I can say he's this p4p future ATG every thinks he isLast edited by BendOver; 11-11-2013, 02:01 PM.Comment
