  • is there any way Floyd could have beaten Hearns?

tommy is the one fighter that would give floyd fits . hearns would be able to punch down on floyd over his left shoulder and hearns would use his long left jab to win this fight. hearns would just be to big and tall for floyd

His reach and fast jab would keep Mayweather outside and if Floyd got caught with that right hand he would be sleeping on the canvas.

    what do you think?

Unlikely, but don't be surprised to see the occasional dolt popping into this thread to cite Hearns losing to Iran Barkley as the reason Floyd would kick his ass.

f#ck no. floyd would have a hard time finishing the fight. hearns was a two handed puncher with lead in his gloves. he's hurt and stopped much more durable fighters than floyd mayweather.

hearns is too tall/strong to clinch, too long to be outjabbed by floyd mayweather, and too powerful for floyd to stay in the fight on the scorecards.

people remember hearn's power, but they forget how well rounded he was. he was a great boxer. his chin was good. not great, but good. he was a great body puncher. he could box, or fight if he had to. he had more going for him than just his height, power, and style as a kronk boxer puncher.

it's hard to count out a great fighter like mayweather, but he never came close to facing a great, true welterweight in his prime with power.

I know in the Leonard thread I said you can never really say an ATG has no chance against another ATG, but Mayweather would have no chance against Hearns.

Mayweather has a chance against ANY fighter in the history of the sport at or around his weight class. Hes that good and that smart.

No fighter PAST or PRESENT just walks through him. Hes a tough fight for literally every one. Including Hearns. And thats from Tommys own mouth.

Nope. Every time I envision this bout it's always with Floyd on the losing end. Really the only fight around his weight class that I give him no chance of winning.

If Tommy said that he was just being respectful, but Tommy would beat him.

Floyd wouldn't even step into the same room with Hearns how are you asking if Floyd would even fight him?

agree. mayweather would be at 140 until hearns and leonard moved up.

maybe he fights leonard. he would not fight hearns. he would be too strong.

Tough fights still have winners at the end.

He can beat Floyd of course. But will it be easy? Hell no.
