Comments Thread For: Modugno: I Know Chisora's Flaws, I Will Stop Him

Matteo Modugno, challenger for Dereck Chisora’s European Heavyweight title, says he’ll KO the Londoner’s dream of fighting for a world title again.

The hard-hitting Italian, who’s undefeated in 14 fights, has stopped his last six opponents inside six rounds and he’s fired up to take Chisora crown at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday 30th November, live and exclusive on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/****** Ch. 546).

Chisora’s promoter Frank Warren is in talks with the promoter of Bulgaria’s Kubrat Pulev about an eliminator for the world title next year, but Modugno is looking to pull off a big upset in the Londoner’s backyard to crush his plans.

“First he has to get past me and I’m not a stepping stone for anybody. I’m on my own road to the world title and if I beat Chisora then I will be the one in line for a world title opportunity, not Chisora,” said Modugno. [Click Here To Read More]

Chisora might, MIGHT, have a problem or two early against a much taller guy but once Del drops in a few rib benders it will bring down Modugno's hands and open the path to his chin. Or maybe the body shots will get it done without the need for head hunting. Either way, Modugno gets crumbled.

Modguno seemed pretty easy to back up in his last fight, I don't see Chisora having a problem with doing that. He can crack though, DC needs to be aware not to get caught unsighted like he did v Gerber.

Hopefully we get Chisora v Pulev following this.

i'd be surprised if pulev fought chisora. he already vacated the EU belt once. he is the IBF #1 & doesn't have to risk his spot but pulev could want the payday...

Chisora will look like a knockout artist against this guy.

I dont know that Modugno-Kid, is he talented? His opposition so far is a joke though, not a guy worthy of any kind of title-shot! Chisora defends his European-Title against that Kid. I guess Chisora will chop him down like he did with Gerber. Even if Modugno is really talented, the step up should be to much for him. Chisora is used to fight tall guys and did a good job against them, has beaten Helenius but was robbed and won 4 rounds against Vitali Klitschko and went the distance with him. So he should not have a big problem with the size of the opponent.

This is my thoughts exactly.Wlad as his IBF mandatory before his WBO,Pulev is next in line,in short.no way Pulev fights again against anyone as IBF rules do not permit him to fight anyone else.the IBF are not the WBC,they adhere to their rules and don't make them up as they go along.

Chisora has a lump of coal where his brain should be.I'd say this is a dangerous fight for him after seeing what the pillow fisted Gerber did to him,but I know next to nothing about Modugno.
