Has Pacquiao been prematurely written off?

I mean logic says a style like his cannot last, he's on the decline but imo is still a great fighter. He beat Bradley who was a game prime undefeated fighter, and was doing well against Marquez before literally jumping into that overhand right.

When people say Pac is done, I think it's mainly that they believe his chin is cracked, or he will be psychologically broken from the KO.

The Marquez fight imo showed that he still has the physical attributes to give anyone hell (speed, agility, power) It's just a question of how he recovers psychologically and if his chin has been cracked like Roy Jones Jr's was.

If anything I think it's Rios who is being written off in their coming fight. Bam Bam comes to fight, I think he'll give a better account of himself than a lot of people are expecting.

Manny probably hasn't lost much between the Marquez knockout and now. I agree with you that he looked very sharp, fast and strong in the fourth Marquez fight before and after he got caught for the first knockdown. He was out for blood and Marquez happened to have a game plan that capitalized on it. Considering Manny has taken 11 months between that fight and now, I think he'll have recovered by now.

We'll get to see how he looks after the Rios fight. I know I'm expecting a return to form for Pacquiao.

jury is out,, but doesnt look good for manny

        1. age is catching up with him

        2. alot of fights,, over sixty and numerous wars

        3. he just got laid out cold,,,, literally put to sleep,, other top fighters have been knocked out before and gone on to have success, but i cant remember one that got put to sleep for several minutes

        4. punch resistance shows signs of waning,,,, and once your punch resistance is gone, it never comes back

        5. rios will be a good test,,, remember when tarver iced roy, roy came back vs johnson who at the time had like 9 or 10 losses so everybody thought it would be a piece of cake for roy,, but the roy got ko'd again,,, rios will make manny work in the ring much like johnson did to roy, so we will see how much manny has left after this fight,,,

It isn't just premature. It's complete and total guesswork.

I think both Pac and Rios is being written off by there opposing fans. And I'm very interested to see if Pac still got his killer instict. The people who are saying that Pac is not gonna be the same after the JMM KO needs to remember that Pac got KO'ed twice before JMM KO him.

                  Yes he is.

He has wins over Tim Bradley (consensus) whom is P4P #3 & Marquez at 6 and just had a loss.

Were talking about the previous #1 P4P here now being at #7, whom has wins over both of those guys.

Not only that but someone tell me who not named Mayweather between 140-154 would be favourite over Pac?
