For all the trouble those guys gave Tszyu, only Mitchell 1 went beyond 6. And they were all good fighters, Hurtado was up on Whitaker in round 11.

I respect Ward for winning the Super Six tournament and KOing Dawson but if he wants to add to his legacy, and more importantly, build mindshare in the sport, he needs to proactively get off his duff and hit LHW. I don't see Froch offering him another fight, the only real money maker for Ward at SMW.
But he can challenge Kovalev and Stevenson. Never mind that these guys lack outstanding portfolios. They are PERCEIVED by most fans as legitimate KO artists. So Ward can beat these bad boys and use them to expand his fan base beyond the hard core minority.

Ward is right. Him beating GGG right now would be received about like Floyd beating Canelo. It would be a lotta hype going in. But if the likely senerio of Ward outclassing GGG plays out. All of the "GGG was a hype job", "GGG hasn't fought anybody", "GGG wasn ready for Ward at this point in his career" garbage would start. Ward is very similar to Floyd in thar he has no peers. He's also like Floyd in that he doesn't give a rat's ass about what the fans want or think about his fighting style, although he does it in an articulate and classy sorta way. GGG is certainly on his radar, as is Stevenson and the Kovalav at light heavy. But he's likely gonna wait until GGG has a win like say, Martinez on his resume to validate the hype. And as for the light heavys, he'll likely fight the winner, probably after a tune-up. But I'm gussing with Chavez Jr hitting super middle and GGG on the horizen, a Ward move to light heavy is probably a year or two away.
