Comments Thread For: CompuBox: Golovkin Creates Big Numbers in 2013

Not a bad breakout year for IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin in 2013. He outlanded his four opponents nearly 3-1 in total punches. Golovkin landed an average of nearly 14 jabs per round, more than double the middleweight average and highest per round among today's active championship caliber fighters (Malignaggi - 11, W. Klitschko - 10). Golovkin also landed nearly half of his power punches - 11% higher than the middleweight average. Opponents, fearing the incoming attack, averaged just 44 punches thrown, 11 landed per round, well below middleweight average. [Click Here To Read More]

Love how he sticks with that jab.

Most pressure/power punchers abandon the jab

                  Opponents: 25% total punches landed.

God what a bum Golovkin is, horrible, I mean dreadful defense. No wonder this guy lost 8 amateur fights!
