Comments Thread For: Tyson Marquez Recovering, Vows Big Changes in 2014

Former champion Hernan "Tyson" Marquez (36-4, 26KO's) is already regrouping after Saturday's twelfth round knockout defeat to Giovani Segura at the CUM in Hermosillo. It was a spectacular fight with high-action, fast-paced and breathtaking emotion from the crowd.

There some scary moments after the fight, where Marquez was barely able to move around.

After being checked in the hospital after the fight, Dr. Arturo Arellano and Neurologist Dr. Monreal issued a diagnosis indicating that Marquez suffered severe dehydration, and because of that, and the activity of the fight, he suffered a heat stroke inside the ring.

Hernan Marquez is a brave and amazing warrior and so is Giovani Segura and both of these men desserve nothing short of the highest respect in boxing. I'm very glad to hear that Marquez is recovering and that nothing more serious happened to him, from the sound of it he must have been in hell after suffering that heatstroke in the ring and I'm glad he made it out ok. Everyone gets to pick their fight of the year and this one is mine.

Damn right and so do all Latinos! Mexicans are the ones who have died the most in the ring or killed the other fighter in the last 30 years...... but trainers have to prevent that from happening.
