there are plenty of roasters out there who WILL take money from a legit cause to line their own pockets - FACT!

I can present a couple of cases where this has happened but can't be arsed because I don't have time to be getting into petty slanging matches.

Anyway thank you for your sarcastic response, money has now been sent.
FWIW I thought it was a legitimate question. It's unfortunate that con men focus on tragedies - but they do.

Ugh, this is horrible! I watched the fight and he really did take a hell of a beating but wouldn't quit. So sad to see this happen. I wish him the best. Hopefully he can recover from the stroke.

Dibella and Lewkowicz got money but I don't think they can spend millions just like that. People should petition HBO to cover all the medical bills.

Would be interesting to find out. It seems these top boxing promotion companies are certainly doing well enough to afford it.
It's crazy that he wasn't insured by his promoters.

i'll start all of this by saying that i believe magomed's health is the responsibility of them men who promote and manage him. that extends beyond the law, and is a reflection of what i believe to be the decent thing to do.

law would require some insurance for magomed. i'm positive of that, as others have posted documents detailing the athletic comission's policies.

the contract of a pro fighter is never made public, so we cannot say what exactly the responsibilities of the promotor are in writing. the amount of total insurance probably ins't toign to be enough to cover the medical bills of a guy who had a cranial hemorrhage and a stroke, though. he's probably going to be in and out of medical care for the rest of his life.

right now the entire abdusalamov family is staying in manhattan, one of hte most expensive cities in the world. they're probably racking up hundreds / a grand a night in hotel bills alone. mago got paid 40 grand in purse, whcih is before taxes, manager and trainers cuts, etc. that 40 grand will be all gone by the time this ordeal is done with. the "trust" is being set up obviously to help suppliment the medical bills that will come in addition to the insurance coverage, but also to help set magomed's family up down the road. he won't be boxing again. he may never be able to work any job for all we know.

Yes I agree that his promoters should be responsible. However, HBO could cover those medical bills easily, it would be a drop in the ocean for them. The man fought on their network for their viewer's entertainment, and it was an action packed fight which probably motivated a lot of people to renew their subscription. They should at least talk about the fund on the air.

Donated but to ring10ny.com. If every boxing fan donated even a couple dollars his family will be taken care of.

I just donated $10 and although it is little if every one of the 1000 members here donate just as much, I think it will be noble. I would like for them to announce how much it is in the fund though.
