Very nice gesture on behalf of all of them but wasn't the cards main promoters K2 Promotions? The Klitschko's should be the ones footing the the bill for his medical expenses. Isn't there any kind of insurance involved with these cards in order to cover these sort of tragic occurrences?

how the hell is it their fault? magomed had a corner and there were refs and ringside doctors. its very hard to blame the promoter. they did not keep the fight from being stopped.

Wow, that's terrible to hear. I hope he makes a full recovery and gets all the support he and his family needs. Props to Martinez for being one of the first "big-time" boxers to offer support...it'd be great to see a bunch of boxers band together to help him out. That is a story that would make national news and bring boxing to the national spotlight.

i know its good to help, but i know Lou Dibella, Sampson Lewkowicz, HBO, the promoters n all those involve in the dirty boxing industry have plenty of money to help that man, greedy rich punks

The Klitschkos are the promoters of Golovkin. They weren't the only promoters on that bill. And they didn't keep shoving Mago back out to keep fighting when he was hurt.

How about the HBO crew cheerleading and suggesting Wlad should fight just like Mago?

He had the misfortune to be injured in this country his bills are going to be crazy, good thing they are trying to help. I just hope this isn't a bad sign about his health tho.

Obviously wishing Mago the best, sincerely hope he pulls thru OK. Seems kind of odd though, that there wasn't an insurance policy signed with the fight, just for incidences like this. Would be interesting to find out. It seems these top boxing promotion companies are certainly doing well enough to afford it.

I've Met Magomed Abdusalamov in real life he actually came over to our house for dinner he is a really good guy very calm chill guy from what he was describing it just sounded like his management and his promoters were using him to make money off him, it sounded like he was barely making any money they were leasing him some ****ty nissan and a house in oxnard he said he was making something like 1000 dollars for every round and this last fight was his supposed big pay off 40 grand and a lifetime of medical bills. I really hope he recovers to the highest potential of recovery ability but from what im reading and hearing it sounds pretty bleak.

His promoters are just covering their own asses they have a fighter on their roster that's not even medically insured how could he be medically cleared for the fight, they probably haven't even done mri's of his brain before the fight happened just say go get beat up and here we'll give you this small chump change. This type of **** makes me sick

its a perfectly legit question, I don't have time to be looking at websites all day every day, I had a few minutes spare this afternoon and saw this article and didn't have time to be running around verifying it.

there are plenty of roasters out there who WILL take money from a legit cause to line their own pockets - FACT!

I can present a couple of cases where this has happened but can't be arsed because I don't have time to be getting into petty slanging matches.
