Who wouldn't want to be in Quillin's shoes right now? Fighting on undercards against unranked opposition. Who needs 1.5 million viewers on HBO when you have that? He has the makings of a star.
Truth right here. Quillin did better than GGG did against Rosado.... why have a main event when you can be undercard? I'd rather have my name under a big name headlining than being the big name.....truth

Seems like no one is planning on mentioning this, so I guess I will. None of you guys are going to give credit to Stevens for helping put up these numbers by talking up a storm and keeping the fight in the media? He made people want to watch. Every one knew he was going to go quickly, I personally predicted under 6, so he surprised me. He really talked a lot and kept his name out there in the media. No one will agree that he had a bit to do with those numbers, but he actually did. I think Golovkin's next fight against Murray will do less because both guys will be "gentlemen" towards eachother. It's called pre-fight hype for a reason, Stevens understood this.

Finally somebody gets it. Richard Schaefer always speaks the truth:

I read over the past few days all of these negative comments from Abel Sanchez attacking Andre Ward, Peter Quillen and others. Golovkin might be fighting main events on HBO but he is responsible for the lowest ratings on HBO every time he fights. Abel Sanchez might be a decent trainer but other than that he has no clue on what he is talking about. Golovkin might be fighting at Madison Square Garden, but Abel should read the fine print… its the Theatre
Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has read several pieces on BoxingScene.com where Abel Sanchez, trainer for IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (27-0, 24KOs), was highly critical of WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillin (29-0, 21KOs) and WBA super middleweight king Andre Ward. Sanchez, while speaking to BoxingScene.com's Bill Emes, directed some fire at Quillin, who wants to face Golovkin in a unification encounter.

Thank goodness Stevens has a huge fanbase, he'll take all 12 of them to ESPN for his next fight

I think GGG has headlined 3 of his last 4 fights, Quillin has yet to headline his fights.

People probably heard the fighter was from Kazakhstan and thought it was part of a Borat sequel.

the fact it was an american fighter with power probably helped. When he fights Martin Murray in Monte Carlo it might do well in the UK but over here, there will be less interest, possibly lower ratings.
