Seriously? Sergio would be favored over anyone at MW, maybe even Golovkin. He's the top fighter at 160 and holds the lineal title. Why are people so afraid of him fighting Golovkin?

Everyone wants it, except for Sergio's team.

It will prove who is the #1 MW.... so that people can't say about Golovkin: "Oh he never beat Sergio, who was the lineal champ, GGG is just a paper champ" etc...

You're implying Sergio fell off, okay, well lets just crown Golovkin lineal champ?

I'd actually root for Golovkin, I generally like what Golovkin brings to the ring more than what Martinez does and I'm a fan of both. Again, Martinez has the kind of injuries that a fighter, especially of his style isn't permitted to have. He'll easily get trapped and taken out, or Golovkin will catch him on the move. I don't see it being remotely competitive at this point.

That's a testament to how weak the division is, the bold is.

THe division is so weak that the lineal champ shouldnt fight the top contender?

It's either we care about titles or we don't, me personally I don't and the fight itself...don't care for it either

Don't see whats wrong with that viewpoint when it pertains to this situation. Doesn't mean I'm against it, just don't care for the fight much.

How does a junior middle (Cotto) get a shot at the title when the number one middleweight doesn't?

If Sergio needs a warm up bout then fight Cotto in a 10 round fight then put the title up against GGG! Thats how it used to be done and worked out very well. If the opponent (Cotto) in the ten rounder beats Sergio than he gets the shot at the winner of the titled bout! Done! Ray
