I don't know why Ortiz gets hate, he's always in entertaining fights and puts on a show. He's unpredictable at time, but that's his schtick.

I hope he comes back reinvigorated and ready to become champion. His best days are still in front of him.
Exactly holmes, Ortiz get's a lot of hate around here but he's the future. I hope he goes after Bradley, that's an easy fight for him and a good name to get on his resume.

ortiz lacks the main fundamental needed to be successful - MENTAL ACUITY

he will never rule a division because his mind is not as strong as his body. he has the tools, the power, the speed, the stamina, but he will never be able to fight someone who can get in his head and cause problems. i would like an ortiz-bradley fight. would be a good test for timmy, but ultimately, tim outboxes him...

Good points holmes, I do admit he has shown mental weakness, but can that not be worked on? He is young after all and his best years are ahead of him. I think Bradley is too small for Ortiz, Ortiz would simply walk him down and put a beating on him.

i agree the mental sharpness can def be worked on and improved. victors got LOTS of work to do, but yes, it can. i dont see him beating bradley tho. i see a good fight, with bradley figuring him out by round 6 or 7, and frustrating him to a win. maybe ortiz "beats himself" but i jus dont see victor gettin the W. maybe in a few years when he has ALL his shit on lockdown - mind and body!

I agree but Bradley is TR. Ortiz makes easy work of Khan, Alexander, Brook, Guerrero (if there is good reffing), berto, soto karass, malinaggi, judah, etc. He should fight those guys, especially the titleholders (Alexander or Maidana/Broner) and position himself for a unification bout potentially w/ floyd. Ortiz's popularity outside of boxing is at its peak and he will be a big ticket. He could also position himself for a bout w/ Canelo, in which I think he's pretty competitive.

Ortiz isn't mentally tough enough to be a boss
there's guys he can beat, but he's not running shit at any weight
the guy cracks under pressure and can't sustain in a tough fight
he got pushed hard and failed to come through in his big fights
he's just gonna be a gatekeeper until he's used up

I don't think Ortiz is good enough to beat Alexander let alone the Bradley.

If only Victor Ortiz was as confident about himself as OP is, he would be one helluva fighter.
