Comments Thread For: Mike Perez: Magomed in My Thoughts, A True Warrior

New York City - Heavyweight Mike Perez was deeply saddened to hear of the injuries suffered by Magomed Abdusalamov during their 10-round battle on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden.

Abdusalamov is being treated at Roosevelt Hospital in New York City.

“’Mago is in my thoughts and prayers and I hope he recovers quickly,” said Perez. “He fought like a true warrior, I’m happy to be victorious but my main concern is for his health.”

Added Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions, “Our entire team was very saddened to hear of the injuries that Magomed sustained during his bout on Saturday night. He is in our thoughts and prayers and we thank his team for keeping us updated on his condition.” [Click Here To Read More]

it's too bad a great fight had to end with someone being seriously hurt. ihope magomed can fight again but from stuff I've read he will have the same issues joe mesi did in the states. if he chooses to continue he may have to fight in parts of Europe or US states that are less strict on past head injuries...

I wouldn't care about my victory either if my opponent had to go through something like that as a result of it. It was a great night of heavy weight boxing (which i cant remember the last time i said that) but unfortunately had a sad turn of events, but hopefully has a happy ending and Mago recovers fully.

They had to remove a portion of his skull to relieve the pressure - I do not think he will be fighting again, from the end of the first round on Mago raised concerns in his corner over his health. Why did no one take any of it seriously ? Gotta have trainers that truly Care for their fighters.

Trainers have to protect the fighter when he knows his guy is losing, has nothing to give, taking a beating and refuses to quit. Smh

These were heavyweight power punchers trading blows throwing as many punches as lightweights it was a brutal fight of the year candidate, the ref should have stopped it.

I cheered both guys, but now I feel hurt and pain this is sad.
