Stevens' best KO is probably Elvin Ayala in 1.....you know who else KO'ed Ayala in 1?? David Lemieux....who seemed a good puncher when coming up, but then went 12 with Joachim Alcine(KO'ed in 1 by Angulo and Macklin)...

lemieux is a very hard puncher. his problem is reach and boxing ability. he has a 64 inch reach, which is small for a featherweight.

having power doesn't mean you will win a fight, and not having power doesn't mean you will lose.

Stevens has a good punch, he isn't Earnie Shavers but he can punch...and u factor in the fact he hit Golovkin with a good amount of clean shots, and only ONE in I think Round 5 even appeared to stop Golovkin momentarily....

so Golovkin does appear to have at least a decent beard...so maybe a bit of both...

Hell, Rosado landed a couple times on Golovkin's chin and he walked through them...and Rosado did mark up GGG...when your aggressive and stalking opponents u better have a good beard...

A little of both, Stevens wasn't knocking out top 10 guys and on the other side GGG has never even tasted a full glove until Stevens knocked him.

The most stunned GGG got to was after I think a real nice left hook from Stevens' but he shook it off in half a second and continued to pressure. His legs didn't jelly leg either after eating a 2 punch combination flush.

But you know, people are willing to take that 1-2 second to recollect himself as "being stunned"

It is a little of both.

Stevens does have knockout power, but a fast snappy punching power. There is not a lot of heavyness behind it, but a punch to the chin can scramble you.

Golovkins is less snappy, but more heavy and with more follow through. His punches may not knock you out with one punch, but you feel them.

Golovkin does not even look like he loads up his shots. Just by looking at him you can tell they are relaxed punches. You can tell he has more in reserve.

Stevens has a good punch, not as hard as its hype out to be but he has legit power. He landed some bombs on Golovkin and they didnt affect him

Yeah...bitta both I think, GGG is very good at not taking flush shots to start with, so I'm not sure he ever got hit with a full power left hook. Also there's the whole kinda speed is power thing, the Stevens KOs I've seen mainly have come from his handspeed;especially on the counter, guys just don't see them coming.

Against Findley, for instance he landed plenty of shots flush and barely rocked him; a lot of punch resistance is simply being aware that the punch is about to land.

Anyways, whatever the reasons, Stevens landed some nasty looking shots on GGGs chin which snapped his head back, and backed him up briefly on a few occasions but otherwise seemed to trouble Golovkin not at all.
