multi fight deals seem hard to come by especially as far as networks are concerned. which isnt surprising in the least, but still its hard to imagine a network as big as HBO being so petty about non-descript middleweights

Quillin is huge? he looked small-ish compared to Rosado. Moreover, his power didn't do much to Rosado either beyond the cut, he walked him down. Quillin has a puncher's chance imo, same as Stevens. A puncher's chance isn't to say he has no chance, as he could land it but he's not out-boxing or UD-ing Golovkin and probably wouldn't win a round.

I know you don't care for the rest of the division, and I know why - they're from around the world, not the US.

Take the training wheels off and start making the compelling match ups guys like me want to see, such as Froch, Ward, and other fighters of note at 168. Im tired of watching GGG beat up on little guys.
Rosado is bigger than Golovkin. Ishida was bigger than him too.

It was at the end of the round though, another good punch or two and Quillin was going down. He was definitely hurt in my opinion.

In saying that, the reason it was at the end of the round was because Rosado only got to Quillin as Peter tired from moving around so credit is due to Quillin's gameplan there.

I agree Rosado lost to the better fighter, and the stoppage was good, but my point was that Quillin's chin is far from iron and wouldn't stand up to Golovkin's punches.

It's not petty, it's standard practice especially when you found a gem like this. Very good, very exciting, never passes on a fight, will fight for peanuts (for now). It's a network dream.

It's petty when you blacklist other promotions and lock a fighter into contracts fighting guys like friggen Ishida and Stevens

Ishida wasn't on HBO. Stevens was the most appealing of the guys that raised their hand. But basically all the MWs are on HBO. Of course they gonna twist some arms and force some of this guys to sign, like Macklin.

As for the HBO GBP rift, I'm sure they had legit reasons. Might have cost them, but not real sure. They've had a lot of very exciting fights this year, and given guys like GGG, Ruslan, even Estrada, exposure. These guys would have never gotten on HBO while GBP had that output deal. Just recently the head of Showtime said Hopkins Kovalev was not an appealing fight they'd buy, they'd rather go with Murat.

In my opinion Stevens would beat Quillin, he is no where in the same league as Golovkin. I seriously doubt5 he would last 6 rds with Gennady.

I don't think Kid C is dodging him at all.

Good post. Sorry if i come of confrontational its just hard to see what the riff really is when all the smoke clear.

Why did Hopkins/Kovalev get turned down? Do we know what type of money they were asking for? Was Hopkins going to be stripped?
