Dude you picked Stevens by KO. Why haven't you moved on to the next alt yet?Comment

What Loeffler is actually saying is "no, we're not moving up" but if someone puts absolutely crazy/insane/unheard of money on the table then we might not completely rule it out.
I am repeating myself here, but the K2 outfit just don't do risks and fantasy-fights for us fans. What they actually do for their clients is make sure they get well-paid, get fights on their terms and hang-on to their belts.
Barker, Martinez, Sturm, Quillin are all winnable, profitable and high-profile MW fights and Barker and Quillin bring belts and I reckon that's exactly where GGG is heading. GGG v Sturm in Monte Carlo; don't rule it out!
I am sure they fancy Chavez as well because he brings money and US recognition; but they're realistic enough to know Junior would probably do his usual grubby, fat boy trick of making the fight at one weight and then rock-up for the bout at light-heavy and hope that his opponent does not walk away from a massive payday.Comment

Someone should call their bluff. And yeah, you can 100% rule out Sturm in Monaco, seems like you're out of touch. What Loeffler is actually saying is "no, we're not moving up" but if someone puts absolutely crazy/insane/unheard of money on the table then we might not completely rule it out.

Promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions is not ruling out the possibility of having WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (28-0, 25KOs) move up in weight to face champions Andre Ward and Carl Froch, but the money has to be right. Ward is going to defend his WBA "super title" against Edwin Rodriguez on November 16th. A week later Froch will return to defend his IBF/WBA 'regular' title against domestic rival George Groves. Golovkin is going to return on February 1 in Monte Carlo.

What GGG's promoter is saying is that they are not going to take a chance on getting exposed by Froch or Ward by moving up to 168 unless they are going to get paid four times what he gets per fight right now. However, he has no problem moving down to 154 to take on Floyd Mayweather in a fight which GGG would have a significant weight and strength advantage.Comment

@HeroBando - sorry disagree with you there fella, lots of high-rolling Russian billionaires down there in Monte Carlo and K2 is a European-based outfit with big, long-term connections with the German broadcasters. A Sturm or Barker fight down there next Spring does good business...
...ain't saying it is right, but it is an option and they managed to sell GGG v Ishida down there easily. Golvokin has done a lot of air time and big fights in Germany as well so a Europe fight against someone like Sturm is a goer.
Should stress that I am talking about the fights I think we're going to get....rather than the fights I want to see GGG take.Comment

Sturm is fighting Barker in a month, and GGG fights in Monaco on Feb 1. It wouldn't work even if Sturm was not terrified of GGG and wouldn't touch him if GGG released a sex vid with Sturm's wife.@HeroBando - sorry disagree with you there fella, lots of high-rolling Russian billionaires down there in Monte Carlo and K2 is a European-based outfit with big, long-term connections with the German broadcasters. @HeroBando...ok, we seem to disagree.
But I think they're gunning for Sturm v Barker winner, the date might move around and I reckon they've earmarked landing that IBF belt.
Eddie Hearn and Barker want to push-on and take on all-comers, very brave indeed. And if Sturm actually wins he'll be tempted by the money Golvokin brings to the table.
Knowing K2 it could actually be someone absolutely terrible and a complete gimme down in Monte Carlo....but I would not be surprised if Barker or Sturm were standing in the other corner for a 'unification' job. Let's see.Comment

The date is set, no way will the winner of Barker Sturm fight G with 9 weeks in between. Barker already has a rematch clause in case Sturm wins, and Hearn is on record it would take life changing money to put Barker in the ring with G. Team GGG are not working with that kind of money, they can offer a very good purse but not outrageous.@HeroBando...ok, we seem to disagree.

and Geale has an option on Barker if he wins. My guess is that he'll hide out in MW until the fans demand he no longer fights soda cans and cable guys.
