  • Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Promoter on Going To 168 To Face Ward, Froch

Promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions is not ruling out the possibility of having WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (28-0, 25KOs) move up in weight to face champions Andre Ward and Carl Froch, but the money has to be right. Ward is going to defend his WBA "super title" against Edwin Rodriguez on November 16th. A week later Froch will return to defend his IBF/WBA 'regular' title against domestic rival George Groves. Golovkin is going to return on February 1 in Monte Carlo.

GGG should just stick to mw,,,, plenty of fights there for him,,, going up and fighting ward and froch is not a good idea right now,,, that can come later,,

I think Froch would beat GGG. Froch has a great chin and he also has great power and he isn't one of those fighters that you can bully in the ring.

Golovkin will definitely fight one of these guys next year or early 2015, if he sticks around for Martinez in 2014 first. HBO is going to push the hell out of it.

Ward will never face Triple G mark my wordz, The Bitch In HIm has Already Made up his mind. Froch is down to get in front of that Firing Squad and see Whatz UP, how he fairz is another story, More then likely he gets Murk'd by time they meet up he on the slide end of his career just how this game goes.

Apart from Quillin who else is there that can make a compelling fight?

The lineal champ is Martinez... Quillin has a belt... Why should Golovkin give up the idea of unifying and becoming the undisputed champ at 160? Just why?

golovkin should unify middleweight before going up he'll have much better bargaining power then to ... he should fight Martinez and at least least 2 of the murray, quillen, barker, geale group then move up and challenge ward or froch

I hope he doesn't step up or down, he has much more business at his weight class

He needs to clean out the MW division and then step up, similar to what Danny Garcia is going

No point of rushing, Ward and Foch are seasoned pros, where as Triple G is still improving
