a 104 fever and a stroke is far from stable, and it appears as though the stoke occurred as early as sunday night.

his corner had an interest in understating his injuries, as gross as that sounds. if they ever had to reapply for a license they'd be better off if the extent of the injuries were never known publicly or by the commission.

now that it's clear that magomed is done boxing, they're probably more likely to come out with the extent of his injuries. it will also help them raise funds for the family. boxing is a hurt business.
Someone in a vegetable state is technically in "stable" condition. I just didn't think being labeled in "stable" condition when you've been put into a medically induced coma is saying much in terms of a prognosis. People hear "stable" and assume they're OK...but that doesn't mean anything if you're in a coma.

Regardless, it's crazy. I forget the rounds, but there were several moments in between rounds where Mago's face just didn't look right. He looked a bit worried and a bit distant from his corner. He was also asking about his injuries. I thought it was weird that his corner never even really acknowledged his injuries or asked if he was OK. They never made an attempt to assess his mental state. I get the ref not stopping the fight...Mago was fighting back...but his corner should have.

Changed the thread title to reflect the situation. I gotta say, I'm very upset about this particular case. I've watched the sport long enough to witness several ring deaths and traumatic brain injuries to fighters, but, this is the first time where I fighter that I've followed over the years has been seriously injured. It makes it a little more personal and hits home much harder.

That said, I am hoping, wishing praying that he survives this ordeal with his senses intact and that he can go on to live a productive and healthy life. I have faith that the doctors and medical staff will save him

not when they ahve a 104 degree body temp, bigdog.

"stable" generally describes vital signs, and body temp is one of those. blood pressure, pulse, breathing, and temperature are the big four.

He can open his eyes but he can't follow you with them. No voluntary movement or words, just basic body functions of heartbeat, breathing and digestion. It's really a sad situation to go through because my brother in law was a big strong dude just like Magomed. 38 years old and 6 ft 4 260 lb dude. Now he weighs 140lbs and his whole left side of his body has withered away.
I wish you and your family the very best. I would not wish such a situation upon anyone.

            From fight news

Speaking to the NY Post, Sampson Boxing VP Nathan Lewkowicz described the stroke suffered by fallen heavyweight Magomed Abdusalamov as “a pretty serious stroke” and revealed that “a machine is keeping him alive.” Mago is currently in a medically induced coma in New York City’s Roosevelt Hospital and Abdusalamov’s manager Boris Grinberg told *********.com’s Przemek Garczarczyk Tuesday that Abdusalamov’s “life is not in danger anymore, it was close. They want to wake him up from the induced coma on Thursday.”

Lewkowicz, however, told the Post, “It’s possible he could be in a coma forever. It’s possible he could be in a coma for a few more weeks. No one knows. That’s why they have to monitor the situation. You really have no clue. It’s basically on the individual.”

                  Magomed help ...
Dear fans of Magomed Abdusalamova just boxing fans and all readers of our website! I, as a person residing in the U.S. and personally familiar with Mohammed and some members of his large and close-knit family, known a little more about the situation than other journalists ollboksinga. I consider it my duty to answer the many questions that you have asked in comments to the media about the transfer of material assistance to the family of Magomed. But I beg you all: in this situation let's try not to give vent to their emotions, and to transfer the discussion of emotional bed to the sound. Especially, please do not forget that we are reading, and close relatives of Magomed.

The most frequently asked question - is the issue of health insurance. Just want to answer that insurance Magomed is. Financial support is needed in the first place to his family. Currently in the United States are the parents of Magomed, his brother, wife and three children. His wife, youngest daughter (who was not yet even 11 months) and brother Magomed literally did not depart from his hospital bed. They are "stuck" in New York, in Manhattan (that's where the hospital is located), and it is a very expensive city to live. Mohammed was the main "breadwinner" of the family, boxing was his profession, and now no one knows when and how he can support his family. Of course, it did not even want to think now the main thing - that he won his most important battle, and was able to return to normal daily life.

Those who are familiar with the system of health insurance in the U.S., probably know that if you do not buy insurance through a large employer, and individually, when buying insurance with a good "cover", you need to deal with concepts such as "deductible" and "copay". Without going into details, in a nutshell, these terms can be explained as follows: the money has to pay more out of pocket. However, let me stress again that the amount required to pay for medical bills, considerably fewer (at least for now, the following will explain why) with the amount that is required for financial aid Magomed family.

God forbid, Magomed recover. We all look at it and pray for him. After partial recovery, the process of rehabilitation and return to normal daily life can be quite lengthy. Many insurances cover only treatment and rehabilitation procedures are not covered (that's what I meant above). In addition, after such severe injuries of any work not out of the question for a long time. Without your help, Magomed and his family will be very difficult to get out of this situation. Anticipating the question to say that more detailed information about what insurance covers and what is not, is unknown to me. But I do know that insurance is available, and treatment is carried out by insurance (though hardly at 100%).

In view of the fact that the bulk of financial assistance is not needed to pay for medical bills and to support the family, all the accounts for financial assistance furnished to the name of the spouse of Magomed Bakanay Abdusalamova. Do not be afraid to send money via PayPal. This is the most reliable, secure and easy money transfer scheme. Do not worry that the money is spent "on some e-mails." If in doubt, send a very small amount at first, and you will see that it is confirmation of the transfer of money in the name of Bakanay Abdusalamova. Below I will repeat the information about where and how to transfer money.

Many people ask, what other ways can you transfer the money. I have information that is currently Bakanay Abdusalamova create an account or "purses" on the web-mani and other resources that are popular ways to transfer money to the former Soviet Union. Once obetom will know, I'll immediately disclose this information.

Just want to say that money has already started to arrive. And not only boxing fans, but Sergio Martinez, WBC, Sampson Promotions, K2, Lou DiBella, Leon Margules (former promoter Magomed), and many others. I'm afraid to make a mistake, but in my opinion and from HBO. Sorry if someone forgot to mention, since he is very excited. Family Magomed Abdusalamova thanks to all responded to the call for help and everyone who is going to do it. Special thanks to Boris Grinberg, who left New York and literally on duty at the bedside of Magomed.

I want to explain why contradicory status information HEALTHCENTER Magomed. In the U.S., medical information is considered private and is not disclosed without permission. In addition, relatives of the victim should not receive information from the media, they should know first, before the information is received in the media. Most journalists seek to obtain information manager Boxer (Boris Grinberg), who can not give full information without the consent of the relatives. Or can not do it before the family learned of this from the doctors or from other sources. That's why accusations of untruthfulness or "colored glasses" do not look quite appropriate if to grasp the essence of the situation.

If you do not respond to someone's question, you can ask them in the comments. I apologize in advance that I can not answer all the questions: it is hard to do and physically (I'm on my main work) and moral (as someone personally acquainted with Mohammed, his wonderful wife, his friendly brother and father, as a correspondent, who happens to to ask questions and talk with Magomed more often than any other journalist of the world, perceive the incident as his personal grief). For the same reason, I apologize for having a (certain) grammatical and stylistic errors in the text. And of course the questions in the style of "who is to blame," will also be left unanswered, so no need to ask them here. Perhaps at another time and another place. A series of very heavy for its inevitability coincidences that began even before the fight, horribly contacted in a single chain. Now the main thing that Mohammed was recovering, and we helped him with it, we can. And please do not forget that we are reading close to Magomed people. Please remain tactful in their comments.

There is information that may soon hold a press conference for HBO, ESPN and other media directly to the hospital, where Mohammed. As soon as this becomes known more detail, I'll try to let you know immediately. In the meantime, I repeat the information about the transfer of financial aid:

This can be done through a system of payments PayPal(E-mail for transfers to PayPal - 100bbb@mail.ru ) or by check payable to the wife of Magomed - Bakanay Abdusalamova, PO BOX 90174, Brooklyn, NY 11209, USA. Phone: +1-203-368-85-10 (Bakanay Abdusalamova). How to work with PayPal -https://www.paypal.com/ru/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_merchant-get-started-outside

Medically induced comas (which I researched yesterday) are generally performed when a patient's brain has swollen and pressure must be relieved to prevent further damage to the organ.

I prefer to think positively about Mago's future. What he's experiencing right now is obviously grave, but he's a brave young man with gigantic heart. I'm hopeful those qualities will see him through.
