Another thing to look out for - they will generally throw in a token non-black guy to get behind. It's usually Danny Garcia - mainly because he handled Matthyse, the great white hope. Also because Danny has been with Haymon a long time, before Lucas/Chino got signed up.

They may also say they like Mikey Garcia - reasoning being that he's got mad skills cos he can fight on the backfoot, unlike that leaky defence, plodder Golovkin.

Fighting on the backfoot - superskilled.

Fighting on the front foot, throwing punches with gorgeous technique and scary power, closing the show and getting your opponent out of there = HYPEJOB.

matthysse isnt white dude, he is latino. im glad you brought it up as the other side of the coin you are referring to/complaining about is always pretending hispanic fighters are white after they knock out a black fighter. after martinez KO'd williams there was like a 30 page thread with ppl arguing martinez was white just to name one example.

as for mikey garcia, whats your point? are you saying he isnt highly skilled? mikey is the type of fighter everyone loves, he does have "mad skills" which entice the die hard fans and knocks ppl out which is all the mainstream fans care about. to top things of he is a really nice guy, but i guess you arent allowed to like any of that if you are black since garcia is latino that must make him simply a token favorite. or maybe i should say while he is latino, sooner or later he is gonna knock out a top black fighter and magically turn white.

Salido's one of my favourite active fighters, has been for some time.

Salido still has power and can get inside well so it's going to be really interesting to see.

Only thing is, his resistance is so far in decline now, and has been. His chin isn't finished but he get's dropped and shaken up so much easier now.
