After watching GGG against Stevens..

Stevens won one round on one the actual score cards and I personally didn't think he won any.
It was a blowout and was only competitive at times because GGG was in destroy mode, which leaves him open to counters.
I kind of find it funny that Stevens, with his ex-175 lb, loud mouthed a55 couldn't even mildly deter tripple G even when he landed his trademark left hook. He must have thought that the terminator was after him in there.
Let's see if he claims that GGG has loaded gloves too.Comment

Lmao, trolls gonna troll. People on here are crazy!
Golovkin did get exposed : As having a granite chin...
Inb4 he moved back ans got wobbled .... Isn't that what was supposed to happen? If Golovkin is legit, wasn't he supposed to take the powerful left hook of Curtis and react the way he did and win the fight?
Golovkin outlanded Stevns 293-93 and won almost every round, got his chin checked.... And he had a bad fight? Jeez some people are ridiculous here .. All you keyboard warriors are ignoring the fact that Stevens, and rosado.... Both when they felt the power of Golovkin, went into survival mode to merely try and survive! They never fight like that In any other fights so that right there tell you something about the respect people who, you know, step in the ring with Golovkin, have for him. Hell Stevens was even criticizing Macklin for trying to survive , and he dd the same thing !
Sorry guys, GGG ain't going anywhere, deal with itLast edited by King_; 11-03-2013, 10:41 AM.Comment

The only thing overrated about last night was Stevens' power. And nobody has ever accused me of being a GGG fan boy but it's clear that he is the best 160 lber in the division. Stevens' hand speed was a problem for GGG. Other than that it was pretty much an easy fight.Comment

Getting beat for 20-30 seconds out of a round doesn't mean you lose the round. As you said - he resets and then wins the next encounter. His D isn't as good as Mayweather but it's very good at parrying punches and can do so even when focused on taking the other guy out. (Take a look at the last minute of the Stevens fight to see a beautiful example. It's quite clear he can easily be outboxed and counter. People talk about his jab and how well he uses it but when Stevens was getting a rhythm in some rounds he was getting out jabbed. He seem to have to reset everything he was trying to do once Stevens hit him. Also he shows that he can only come forward and need medium range to get off his shots. His distance and using angles aren't very smart.. He will get ****d shortly once a true boxer get in the ring with him. He's good but not great.. Matthyse was better than him.
Now - saying his use of angles is poor -- I don't know dude. I think he's great at using angles to set up his offense.Last edited by bklynboy; 11-03-2013, 10:55 AM.Comment

Stevens didn't win a round. He won some encounters - he had 20-30 second stretches in which he won and made the 4th and 5th round fairly close. But GGG shut him out.
Martinez (of 3-4 years ago) would be a great fight. Martinez would definitely win rounds and we would see what happens to GGG when things are not going well for him.Comment

Why do people keep mentioning Matthysee when talking about Golovkin? I really don't understand this.... Matthysee losing to Garcia or Lucas in General has absolutely NOTHING to do with Golovkin! Just because Mattyhsse has some of the same fans and some people are but hurt that certain fighters are getting talked about so they bring up Matthysee for some reason... Does not mean Goloivn has some kind of the same pre determined path or something!Stevens did won rounds men, come on. You serious???(GGG's voice)hahaha
Your boy will get Mathysse'd soon and everybody will come to his senses. Im not saying he is a bad fighter, he is great at/with his style, but he is kind of one dimensional. That been said he will tear the 160 division Murray will survive the full 12 cause he is big but don't punch hard enough to trouble GGG, and Martinez is too old, prime Martinez puts a beating on GGG.
Anyways I enjoy watching him fight so, war GGG!
Ger over the Danny thing, seriously... Anyone who brings that up just has to butthurt that someone other then their favorite fighters is being talked about. Idk what else it could be because they're two completely different fighters ans some fanboys hype on NSB means nothing..
What's gonna be really funny is if Golovkin doesnt get "Matthysse"d"Comment

Today GGG would destroy Martinez. But magically match up the GGG of today with the Martinez of 4 years ago and you would have a fantastic fight. Martinez would win plenty of rounds. It would be a great fight. Not at all easy to predict.Comment
