The man was just doing his job of hyping the fight. Curtis Stevens, being a boxer himself, has nothing but respect for his opponent. But respect doesn't sell fights.

He absolutely has nothing to be ashamed of.

There's so many other creative ways to help sell a fight....the casket and mock funeral was a bit too much considering the danger fighters put themselves in when stepping in the ring!!

A casket and mock funeral is a good way to sell a battle rap competition but not a boxing match....the sport we love is too real for ****ery like that to be accepted as a promotional stunt....Stevens played himself with that **** man....you have to win or lose in a certain way when you cross the line in THAT way.....Stevens damn sure didn't win and he lost in a way that makes him look bad considering that pre fight stunt.....the verbal **** is acceptable but that extra **** wasn't called for

Stevens got what he deserved....that work!!

Absolutely YES! From the same card we have a fighter in Magomed who is fighting for his life. Its not acceptable in a sport where death or serious harm is always possible.

You need to go out fighting
                This.

I would have rather seen a furious inside body attack from Stevens than to have him play willing punching bag. He was never gonna win by backing up so much . . . and as a shorter pro fighter he had to know that early on

I'm still confused at anyone saying it was ever remotely competitive at any point. Why? Because Curtis backed GGG up a few times and landed a couple nice shots? That was a couple of times over the course of the whole fight and replays showed that GGG took the sting off of many of the shots. I didn't even come close to giving Stevens a round. That said, he is right that he has nothing to be ashamed of. He did the best he could with the skills he has. He tried.

He showed a lot of heart. He was the inferior opponent, outmatched, out skilled, and just out of his depths but he had his moments and put up a good fight. Much respect.
I agree 100%. I look forward to seeing more from Stevens.
Also hoping that Golovkin gets the right fights to show us
more of what he can do.
