NEW YORK — Gennady Golovkin won’t waste any time waiting around for high-profile fights.
Tom Loeffler, managing director of K2 Promotions, said in the immediate aftermath of Golovkin’s technical knockout victory over Curtis Stevens on Saturday night in The Theater at Madison Square Garden that Golovkin will return to the ring Feb. 1 in Monte Carlo.
Loeffler said more than one opponent is under consideration and that an announcement should come within two weeks. Golovkin’s level of opposition for that bout likely will depend upon whether HBO televises the fight.
