Lennox Lewis did it quite a few times. In MMA I remember Melvin Guillard played possum against Nate Diaz. But I think when somebody plays possum, he is probably hurt but not as much as he claims to be.

I remember Renaldo Snipes playing hurt in a great fight against Lionel Washington. Snipes fell back into the ropes seemingly on ***** Street. Washington moved in for the kill only for Snipes to unload a massive overhand right to send him through the ropes like a mailman posting a letter.

That was on hell of a fight.
