    It would take some good acting while already in a stressful situation, I am guessing it doesn't happen because when getting schooled by Floyd it may be pretty hard to come up with a clever ploy while being frustrated by the schooling your on the receiving end of.

      yes, it's called playing possum. it was a much more common tactic back in the day. it works best for guys who roll punches well. lamotta, hagler, moore, walcott etc. you act like the shot hit you / shook you up more than is actually the case. when they come in to let their hands go, you counter.


      the problem is that it can fool the judges, and they can give the other guy the round.

              Dwight Muhammad Qawi use to pull this off occasionally. I know he did against Holyfield and Foreman and landed a shot with it. I will search for the clips now and link them.

                Don't remember anything recently.... but i've seen ones where it backfires, like when Zab pretended he got hit on the nuts and magically recovered at the count of 10

                      This guy on friday night fights, I think he was in the contendor. Pretended to get knocked out , the ref stopped the fight and then he jumped up and protested
