Comments Thread For: Froch Not Impressed: Groves Has No Chance To Win

Carl Froch insists he is taking George Groves seriously, but has dismissed his chances of victory in the big super-middleweight showdown on November 23.

Froch is preparing to defend his WBA and IBF titles against Groves at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

The Nottingham fighter has fought at world level for a number of years and holds wins over big names such as Mikkel Kessler, Jermain Taylor and Lucian Bute.

Groves has been handed his first shot at world title and Froch doubts whether the 25-year-old is ready for such a major bout, despite his unbeaten record.

Froch told Sky Sports News: "He's unbeaten in 19 fights and he's got 15 knockouts so that in itself speaks volumes in terms of a record. It's a very good record, he's unbeaten, but you have to look at the opponents he's fought to get to that level and who he's beat and how he's beaten them.

Andy Lee and Martin Murray picked Groves to win. Macklin and Barker, Froch.

Froch is gonna murder this kid. But it will be a good learning experience for Groves.

I wouldn't mind seeing The Cobra against GGG.

He beat Glen Johnson in far better fashion winning nearly all the rounds.

You had a fairly close fight with him Carl.

So Groves probably does deserve his shot.

Groves seems to be able to wind Froch up more than any other fighter.

Interesting Hearn reckons Team Golovkin doesn't want the Froch bout.

froch definitely isn't enjoying the taste of his own medicine. still don't think groves has the tools to beat him or even pose much of a threat, though.

It wouldn't surprise me if true. GGG isn't too keen on facing Andre Ward either.

I think their preference is to fight at MW. Can't blame them really, that's where he belongs.
