    But Rubio? lol

LMAO Cotto beats the red head step child.....but slick back Shaefer is gonna place him with Molina.....Heck Rubio beats Alvarez....

Rubio 58 wins / 50 KO's but Alvarez....looked poor against Floyd. Cotto will make Alvarez cry again and so does Rubio. At least Rubio and Cotto fight with ballz instead of dancin' queens. Alvarez can't outbox Lara or Martirosyan, how was he gonna outbox Floyd. Sorry had to put my 2 cents in....like your posts though.

Ok feelin' the hangover now....damn you Halloween.

But it's the WBC (meaning can easily bought out for bigger names). I too would rather see Cotto vs. Martinez in a heartbeat, but that's boxing....the screwed get bent over again and again. Rubio is actually my favorite of the Mexican Middleweights....shame on me for liking KO artists. "He's a beast" in my book. 58 wins....50 KO's?
Rubio deserves nothing. He is as fake a mandatory as they come. Since his last title shot, he beat an assortment of bums and a 40+ year old blown up welter. And knocking out David Lemieux doesn't make you a KO artist. Rubio didn't look like much of a beast against the few world class fighters he faced in his 60+ fight career.

I agree that weaseling out of mandatories is a bad thing, but isn't it also a bad thing to make guys like Rubio mandatories?

Com'on.....you let a 48 year old fight screaming Mayweather's next at 160...lmao....might be his last hooorah. Just would be a chance for his big fight. How many fights he got left? He's not that bad? But it's all about the Benjamins.....I know.....I'd like to see it.....while I sit in my room watching it on VCR tape. I get the MONEY ASPECT....any Mexican love for my boy Rubio?

Rubio got beat by lazy Chavez, Martinez would out box Rubio to an easy UD.

So you are basically saying that Rubio is a deserving mando because Hopkins, like everyone and their kid brother from 140 to 175, would like to fight Mayweather next.

You know what? You have convinced me. I can't beat that argument.

Martinez has been trying for years to get a really big money fight with a smaller fighter so if Cotto agrees to fight him then the fight will happen even if it means Martinez loses the WBC title.I guess a Cotto-Martinez would tecnically be for the lineal world middleweight title but I think it's a joke. Before his latest win over an easy opponent Cotto lost to a welterweight and a Jr.middleweight so even if he beats Martinez he is hardly the best middleweight in the world. Martinez may be the lineal middleweight champ but he has not fought any of the top 3 middleweights in the world in years. To me the best middleweight in the world and the real champ is GGG. If Martinez fights Cotto will the winner fight GGG? I doubt it.

Cotto has never fought at middleweight once in his entire life. So it's ridiculous that he would get a title shot over others like Rubio who have been doing things by the book.

The sport becomes a joke when money can circumvent the rules and regulations that you supposedly have in place. It's not a good precedent to set.

And I say all that while admitting that Cotto-Martinez is a bigger and better fight for the fans.

Cotto vs Martinez will probably be a catchweight fight which sucks already. I hate catch weight fights. Cotto should just fight Canelo at 154. I am glad this dude Rubio is blocking this s**ty fight anyway.
