winky whats so great about him

yes of course he is good if not he wouldn't be champ .. but at the same time i don't understand what the big deal is . out of no where he came with big wins.. and all begin to proclaim him as the best ...why ?....what is it? he has good defense is that it? ....yes he is good and all but some make him seem like the next Ray Robinson ...is his defense better then Toney or Mayweather i don't think it is ...is it his speed or power then ? i wouldnt call him among the best in either ...so what is it ?...and where do you rate him

Winky's good as he is really good at EVERYTHING. He has, in recent fights at least, shown his amazing understanding of the sweet science - ie hitting and not being hit. He makes it look so easy, so easy that in fact I once saw someone post on here "Winky's defence doesnt look difficult, I could do that". Well, you couldnt. Winky just makes it look like you could as he makes it look so easy. He is the best defensive boxer in the world today, and I include PBF in that. The reason PBF is above him in the P4P stakes is because he now offers a little more than brilliant defence - he has a ruthless streak in him now. He wants to stop fighters. Winky is a great fighter though, and my pick for P4P no 3, after PBF and Pac Man

Technically he is among the best in the business today. He's not very exciting or anything, he's just damn good at what he does, winning.

** Haven't heard any Robinson comparisons. Winky will never be a great fighter. He is a hardworking very good fighter who has made the best out of limited charisma and power. However, it's only the reps of fading Tito and Shane which have elevated Winky recently. He formulated a perfect style to beat them, but was caught with his pants down against Soliman and looked very limited.
Certainly Winky's defense is better than Toney's and he's better in his division than Toney, but it looks like Wink is fading now. He has another year or two at the top, so I hope he knows when to get out. He might be a darkhorse for the HOF.

He's personally my P4P #1. after that Pacquiao, then Mayweather Jr. And if anything, he's underrated not overrated. Just because alot of people talk about him on boxing forums doesn't mean he gets the same respect as far as boxing in general.

well, to be honest, i would pick Wright over many fighters (Taylor included), but i'm always gonna weigh both fighters in any situation respectively.
