Boxing is such a mess of a sport... I realize the history and traditions of the sport and I feel everyone should be able to make money in this country but what other major sport can you bring your own "ball" to the game. I get that baseba players use different gloves or bats same with football players gloves etc... But this is a sport where people get punched in the face over a hundred times over the course of about a half hour... There should be one type of glove PERIOD. No "punchers gloves", "boxers gloves", etc... The gloves should be viewed as a basketball,football or baseball in terms of them all having to be regulation and the same... Look at what Tom Brady is going through now.
If I had it my way I'd say they should all have to be the same color too. Whatever color makes it easiest for the judges to see punches beings landed but that may be overkill.

Cups,mouthguards,trunks, boxing shoes, hand wraps/gauze, =all fair game, use what you want. But the gloves should be made by one specific company and sent directly to the athletic commission and sealed prior to a contest... If guys want to use different brands in the gym that's up to them. Just my .02
