Toney is no RJJ, but if he could apply his skills against Ruiz similar to Jones, then he could win this fight via dicision. There is no way Toney would get **** by Ruiz the entire time. And the score would be so distance that there is no way the judges can cheat Toney.

Damn, can you just imagine all the trash talk coming from Toney when this fight is sign?

The difference between Jones and Toney is that Jones uses movement while Toney just likes to fight on the inside. Jones got in and out quick against Ruiz taking away the hug factor but Toney is more than likely not going to be moving in and out. It would be a close fight that could go either way in my opinion.

different styles but the same principle, SPEED, toney will kill ruiz coming in, which will score enough points for the decision and possibly kayo him

I think Toney really has a chance. He would definitely be the favorite and I would say Toney via TKO 10-12.
If anyone doubts Toney's ability to handle a bigger man while at the same time being dubbed "untested" just check out his fight against Michael Nunn. I have the fight if anyone wants it PM me.

I would say James Toney wins by decision. He's too skilled for Ruiz.

Ruiz by UD! Toney has lil power at heavy and while he does have good speed thats about it. Plus as stated earlier he like to fight on the inside. Look for ruiz to win another huggin fest and do enough to out point Lights OUt. Feel sorry for the Toney Fans cause unless he KOs Ruiz (seriously doubt it), Ruiz wins, PERIOD!

toney is a non-factor in the heavyweight division. look at who he has beaten. john ruiz beats JT unless he proves himself agaisnt a top 5-10 guy

yeah, JT don't move much, but he's got fast hands on the inside, he'll nail Ruiz with right hook to the body and likely follow that with uppercut before huggybear can clinch, and don't forget James Toney is an all time great, second only in natural talent to RJJ. he'll hit Ruiz in the clinches, Golota had johnnylouise hurt an awful lot in their fight but couldn't capitalize, james is much more aggressive than the foul pole, also james has a an ability to kick it up a notch when he knows he needs a knockout ( just ask Michael Second to Nunn, prince charles williams, and tim littles) i see him stopping ruiz late and taking the WBA belt
