Hopkins did nothing but spoil the fight, he made the fight close by preventing a fight. That doesn't win rounds and Calzaghe rightfully got the decision.

A very astute point here. It is much like the Whitaker v De la Hoya fight, where you had one guy doing everything to spoil the fight and seemingly make it close, while the other man was trying to make something happen.

Making someone miss of holding them or continuously pushing, shoving, complaining does not help you win fights. I actually had Calzaghe winning a very ugly fight by a rather wide margin. If I remember correctly I gave Hopkins a maximum of 4 rounds.

Sometimes, no matter how great you are, you come up against a fighter you just can't beat, Calzaghe was Hopkin's Norton. That is nothing to be ashamed of, he lost to one of the best super-middleweights of all time.
