Although I haven't seen a whole lot of Calzaghe HE seems to have the hand speed and has enough power to at least put up a fight. I was just looking over the Vegas Odds and it looks like Lacy is only a SLIGHT favorite. Anyway lets hope this fight becomes a classic battle.

Calzaghe has looked a shadow of his former self in his last three fights, if he turns up like he did against Salem then the fight is for Lacy to lose rather than for Calzaghe to win.

I think if the proper Calzaghe of old shows up, Lacy will have some trouble. Other than RJJ, Calzaghe has the fastest handspeed for that weight in recent years. I think many people are underestimating Calzaghe - im willing to take bets. I'll bet a million on Calzaghe with anyone.

Dude, honestly, the Calzaghe of old will ****ing NOT show up.

I think it's physically impossible now, he's struggling too much to make 168 and, he's 34.

I think the main reason people dont give Calzaghe a great chance is his opposition level over the past 5-8 years. He hasnt faced a really top flight guy in ages and as he is getting older it will probably be harder for him to adjust to a quick, powerful puncher like Lacy when he has been use to beating up on the Mario Veit's of the world for so long now

I think it's possible. every great fighter has at least on great fight left inside of him. A sound argument to kick RJJ off the ATG list =p (Just joking).

Seriously though, i hope Calzaghe pulls this one off. Just to see the general reaction on the board - it should make for some interesting topics. If Joe wins, i foresee at least 1 threat titled 'Left Hook Overrated', posted by some guy who bet 2 mils of Lacy.

I think Richie Woodhall was much better technically than Lacy, as well as quicker than Lacy in the hands and quicker than Lacy around the ring. Woodhall, he was real smart.

Charles Brewer was certainly no slouch, robbed against Ottke and beat the living **** out of Echols (that was brutal).

Byron Mitchell was certainly no slouch, robbed against Ottke, beat Frankie Liles, beat Lacy at the 1996 Golden Gloves by the way.

Mitchell had 90 KO's in the amateurs, so he could punch.

Woodhall (former WBC), Brewer (former IBF), Mitchell (former WBA), all very good fighters.. and Joe looked far more impressive against them than Beyer and Ottke.
