If Canelo is taking these dates and floyd does the 2 big Mexican holidays as planned, thats 4big boxing weekends (not july 26) taken already. Seems a little premature to secure dates this far in advance.

Logic will be to stack the undercards, the only way Canelo gets good numbers because those are allot of ppv events between each other mid quarter of the year. I got a gut feeling GB will pull out there rubics cube of good fighters to stage the best cards possible.

So for 2014 we have 3 Canelo PPVS, 2 Mayweather PPVS, two Pacquiao PPVS, one Cotto PPV and possibly a PPV of Chavez Jr or Marquez and a Broner PPV. That's just crazy..

Kirkland just had shoulder surgery and they offered him a fight knowing he would not be healed that soon. So of course they turned it down, hence the cancellation.

No, they looked for other opponents until they realized canelo couldn't hold down a ppv event on his own, and than decided to give canelo vs trout on free tv.

They realized the same thing with broner.

The problem is GBP has guarantees for broner/canelo that they cant afford without ppv. That's why now that broner is fighting free on Showtime, showtimes budget for the year is essentially completely gone for the year.

They have 2 events left this year, it's loaded with all GBP/haymon fighters. Everyone here acts like there great fights, but not one of the fights are fights anyone ever asked for. It's a big joke.

Everything HBO was doing wrong Showtime is doing now. Those 2 events look good until you realize it cost showtime the rest of there budget, and quite frankly, none of the fights are that good.

Spare a thought for us brits too. We have haye-fury, probably a couple of froch fights, as well as brook fighting 'a big name' in the uk. all are going to be PPV!
