Quillin was winning the fight 86-84 anyways so it was a fair stoppage.
He was actually winning the fight by wider margins than that. But that's meaningless. The scores have nothing to do with the stoppage being fair anyways. The fight the fight could've daily been a draw at that point or with either guy up a round it was a close fight.
It was a bad cut and I understand the stoppage but I also understand Gabes frustration. In a way I'm glad the doctor stopped Rosado could only win by ko and I'm not sure he could've scored it. But on the other hand he was a me to hurt Quillin and seemed to be the stronger fight at the moment. He very well may have stopped Quillin and won a championship with a career defining victory. But we'll be never know.
I feel like boxing is soft nowadays,” Rosado said. “I feel like it needs to go back to the way it was in the ‘80s
Rosado doenst know that Frankie leal died last week
from that same interview you qutoed he opened it up by talking about Frankie leal, dumb asses today who speak without even fucking putting a thought behind it just let their dumbass blind hate blind them
I wish the best of luck to Gabe Rosado, I hope that his cut got treated properly and heals great. Looking forward to watching a rematch which Gabe more then desserves because in my opinion he was on his way to an upset victory regardless of what the cards said. Gabe Rosado always shows up to fight and has a lot of heart.
Listen it was a cut, he has all the time in the world after the fight to get it treated...what he doesn't have is the guarantee of being in a position to snatch a champions belt again. If the fighter is aware of the dangers of continuing a fight and willing to continue he should be allowed to. It wasn't like the man was taking insurmountable damage and it wasn't like Quillin had much sting left in his punches at that point..give the guy a one round to try and pull off the knockout which mind you is not that far fetched considering he made Quillin do a dance earlier in the fight. With that said it's better it ended how it did than to have those horrible scorecards read to the public..how these judges had that fight so lopsided is beyond my comprehension. Imho the knockdown quillin was credited for should've been ruled a trip...go watch the knockdown while yes he connected with a punch look at Rosado trying to get his leg out of from behind Quillin's left leg.
