Comments Thread For: Bernard Hopkins Brawls His Way To Overcome Murat

Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City - IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins (53-6-2, 32KOs), 48-years-old, won a twelve round unanimous decision over mandatory challenger Karo Murat (25-2-1, 15KOs) to retain his title. The scores were 117-110, 119-108, 119-109.

Murat started quickly and was outworking the champion in the early rounds, but it didn't take long for Hopkins to turn up the tempo, use defense, and plenty of dirty tricks. Murat used his own dirty tricks and lost a point in the seventh for hitting on the break, and later in the round that resulted in a war of punches between the two boxers.

It's so difficult to watch a Hopkins fight. Good win for him though.

Great fight, highly entertaining. Amazing Hopkins can still put on a show and entertain the crowd just a few months shy of 49

Best Hopkins fight in years. I was entertained every step of the way, from introductions to post-fight interviews.

Hopkins is freak considering his age but I thought he got hit a lot but a bum. if he let some who could punch hit him like that...... IDK

I can't believe I'm saying this but Smoger was awful. yeah I know Hopkins is closer to Smoger's age than that cabdriver but still.

**** like this from a 49 year old man puts the "Baddest Man on the Planet" Wlad Klitschko to shame. Makes the Povetkin fight look even worse.
