All that is symbolical, nothing more. Did he deduct a point from Murat for blatantly attempting to hit Hopkins while he was on the floor? NO, he didn't. That was an opportunity to get the ball rolling in disqualifying him later on, instead of deducting that one point he did later in the fight.

And finally, Hopkins has veteran status. Like in the NBA, the refs let the veterans get on the free throw line a lot more than the young rookies and sophmores. Personally, I'm ok with it.

Actually Hopkins wasn't fouling at all, Mario Kart was throwing hard low blows, hit Hopkins twice when he was down, never stopped punching during breaks, hit after breaks and after the bell and finally tried to head butt hopkins after the final bell which was the last draw for Smoger.

Why didnt Hopkins get a single warning after he punched Murat with 2 shots WAY after the bell? He was he first one to start fouling.

Not even a warning. He just broke it up like it was nothing. Its a shame.

The fact that Smoger didn't take at least a point from Murat for punching Hopkins twice when he was down is sufficient reason against the proposition that Smoger was unduly biased in Hopkins' favour.

Murat was punching after the bell also, I don't know who started it more times than the other. It was clear that Murat was dirtier than Hopkins tonight, even if Hopkins was far from a saint in there.

Yeah, he was fighting two man in there so much that he didn't get a point deducted for punching while Hopkins is low blowing B-Hop that even the crowd reacted with an "Ahhh". Not sneaky, clever low blow but visible to the point that a blind man can see it.
