For once it was Hopkins' opponent being the dirtier. If Smoger was so biased why didn't he take points from Murat when he hit Hopkins twice when he was on the floor? Smoger was just being Smoger, being very leniant, very loud and very handsy.

Ruined the fun fight for me.

How Hopkins went 12 rounds without a official warning I'll never know. He punched Murat way after the bell and Smoger very gently broke it up.

Murat gets yelled at and shoved and deducted. And even when Hopkins would commit a foul and Murat would push him back, Murat was the one getting yelled at.

Smoger is usually a good fair referee but this was one of the most disgusting ref performance I've ever seen.

Just a typical Golden Boy orchestrated event. They are the illuminati of boxing.

I love Smoger's approach to reffing.

This could have been a smorgasbord of point deductions and stoppages during action. Another ref would have intervened and put himself in the spotlight far more than Steve did.

Smoger managed to make this fight exciting and entertaining by keeping to his hands-off until necessary approach. While I think he could have been warning Hopkins a lot more than he did, all-in-all still a good performance.

I agree...but in the opposite direction.

Punching a fighter when he's down? I thought that's an automatic DQ. Smoger didn't even take a point. Murat blatantly hit him far after he'd gone down; it wasn't even like with Dirrell where Abraham had him hurt and was just going for the KO.

He was complimenting Hopkins on his boxing during the fight you idiot.

                How unprofessional can you get?.

Hopkins fouling all night and even kissed Murat twice that Smoger obviously saw yet no warning.

Proceeds to literally shove Murat and kiss and hug Hopkins after the bell.

                You're an idiot.

Why didnt Hopkins get a single warning after he punched Murat with 2 shots WAY after the bell? He was he first one to start fouling.

Not even a warning. He just broke it up like it was nothing. Its a shame.

"Corrupt referee!!!!! Corrupt Smoger!!!" Yeah, pipe down.
I know u have Hopkins in your Sig and Avi... But still... Its facts... If he wanted to, he had more than enough reason to disqualify Murat, or at least take another point... But didn't...

The difference is Hopkins was sneaky, Murat was obvious, and Smoger is (I'll even admit this as a boxing fan) disgustingly lenient,
