Very true. They will make a PPV every chance they get. Broner is not at that level just yet.If showtime felt the same as you do , in regards to Broners popularity this would still be a ppv event. Don't get it twisted showtime ain't doing this out of kindness giving us boxing fans an early Christmas gift. If they felt this card could've sold decent numbers they would've sold it.Comment

You have to remember the WBA have 3 titles in every division, Interim, Regular and Super titles. Floyd Mayweather vs Canelo Alvarez was for the WBA ''Super'' title, Erislandy Lara is the WBA ''Interim'' title holder and will be upgraded to ''Regular'' champion for the Trout fight.Last edited by chocolate; 10-26-2013, 07:23 PM.Comment

This is good news for the fans. Back to back weekends of meaningful fights with a lot of action to hold us over in between the inevitable snoozers cough I'm looking at Devon Alexander.Comment

Networks are probably just getting even or losing money on PPV cards, even the big ones. Marketing them is not cheap, not to mention the huge cost of paying these wannabe stars. They all want nothing less than a million bucks.
It's no wonder why HBO let Mayweather go without batting an eyelash. Money Mayweather and Haymon are the only ones making millions. Did GBP make truckloads of money? I don't think so. Money Mayweather's guarantee is so huge Schaefer is probably still trying to figure out how he could come up with the balance.Comment

they spend a ton of money to promote PPV fights. several million for the big ones. theyt won't promote the f#ck out of this one to the tune of several million, but that's what he's talking about.
they want broner to be a ppv guy.Comment

Not necessarily. When the fight was first announced, it was gonna be in Nov, not a week before Christmas. Not to mention, there's gonna be two PPVs relatively close to when they're doing this one. Plus, they've already said they didn't expect the show to do overwhelming numbers. Its was more about getting people used to the idea of having to pay to see AB fight. If showtime felt the same as you do , in regards to Broners popularity this would still be a ppv event.
