Nicolai Firtha is solid....Will Deontay Wilder finally be tested??

Firtha went the distance with Povetkin. He had Tyson Fury hurt and out on his feet in a very competitive fight before Tyson was able to stop him in round five...BTW That was a bad stoppage.

Let's face it Wilder is not ready for The Klits or any of the other top guys so I actually like this fight. Firtha is a tough solid boxer and will come to fight....so I think we will finally see someone test Wilder's chin stamina heart and overall boxing. Should be a fun fight to watch and hopeully we'll learn more about Wilder in this fight.

Firtha is garbage. He has never done anything of note his whole career but land a big right hand on a very raw & inexperienced Fury who shook it off and stopped him a few rounds later.

He doesn't even throw anything but very rarely a right hand.

Absolute awful opponent & one I expected to get blasted out in a single round, 2 tops.

      Is Firtha even top 100?

He landed 1 good punch on fury and thats it.

He either gets blown out or barely wins against nobodies from hicksville

Firtha was KNOCKED OUT in six by TYE FIELDS.

Case closed -- stopping him means very little.

Wilder will be on the canvas the first time a decent heavy checks his glass chin.

I read an article earlier this week that stated "Wilder will be vying for a title shot in 2014 or 2015." Firtha's a tough journeyman but fighting guys like him is not going to get Wilder ready for a title shot. Or maybe, his team is taking the path of least resistance to a title shot (aka the Shannon Briggs bum o' the month club route) so that they can cash out.

The frustrating thing about Wilder is that he's capable of beating opponents with a higher level of talent. I think he beats guys like Wach, Dimitrenko, maybe Charr, Solis...

This is true. But the problem isn't that he's facing crap opposition because he's not ready for a step up its the fact that he's fighting on televised undercards and his handlers are hyping these crappy fights and tricking the casual fan into thinking he's brutally KO'ing some world beaters.

If they want him to fight shot Liakovich's and Firtha's, that's fine, it's his career....... but put that **** on the untelevised portion of the cards and replace it with a decent match up and stop the "He's coming for the Kilts" hype until he, at the very least, is willing to fight anybody/step up/someone with a pulse.

Wilder's been in camp with the Klits/Haye before, he should be stepping up to keep up the relative experience he needs.

Wilder by KO in under 5.
