Ironically it was the performance before the KO that made me think 'Pac is back'

Before that KO by hulked up Marquez Pac looked to be on point, most impressive he looked since Margarito imo, such a shame that he literally ran into that punch . As long as the 'switch' hasn't been pushed on Pac's chin and he beats Rios he's still the guy that will give Floyd his toughest fight. The question is his chin, with talk that he was sparring with Ruslan before the Marquez bout (dumb move by roach) maybe he had some residual effects? And in addition the strange body transformation that Marquez went through might have had an effect on his future ability to take a punch..

Pac is mentally strong though it's remarkable really, dude was put to sleep and reportedly played chess and doesn't seem to be really shattered mentally like other boxers.

In conclusion it's not whether his physical attributes have declined, because I believe this is largely a myth, his speed, power and stamina have declined since Hatton which I believe was his absolute prime, but they haven't declined as drastically as people have made out, the question is his chin.

Yeah that's the question : has his punch resistance been affected by the KO? We'll find out soon enough.

I agree that his performance before the KO was good, he looked better than he did in his last few fights, aside from the knock down. The hunger is still there, now we need to know if the body can keep up.

Well now we are working with a little more info.

Has your opinion changed after seeing how JMM looked against Tim?

Yeah, I remember mid fight me and my dad were talking about how good Pac looked. His footwork, handspeed, power, and just general hunger seemed to be back. Then BOOM.. KO.

As long as his chin isn't shot, he's going to beat Rios. But that's the major thing with this fight: Is Pac's chin broke?

I agree. He was finally busting up Juan and then boom. I was so drunk I didn't know what happened at first, lol, but watching that fight over and over Pac did look great. I feel the knock down in round 3 lit the fire under his ass. He just got overly aggressive and got hit with a bomb.

Watching some clips of him training for Rios it seems that Pacs speed and power is still there. I for one think he will be fine after that KO. He is going to walk through Rios

Pac looked by far his best since 09 in that fight and his best performance vs JMM. I genuinely believe that he looked like stopping JMM it was an impressive performance and that is the reason I thought JMM should have retired after that fight because that KO punch was probably his career giving it's last great moment.

What better way to retire than 1 punch KOing your biggest rival?

              No.

JMM has always been a stylistic problem for him. He studied Pac for nearly a decade and knew him inside out. I'm not going to make a specific claim as it is against the rules but it is my opinion that he juiced for the 4th Pac fight, his body looked a lot different against Bradley.

And Pac beat Bradley. Pacquiao is a much better fighter than Bradley and would beat him in the rematch without a shadow of a doubt.

I agree completely. He's gonna destroy Rios, his chin is just fine.

No. I can't say I agree. He was affected by everything marquez threw at him, the knockout was coming and you could tell. His feet were heavy and his punches weren't affecting marquez in the slightest. Marquez even looked like the bigger man in the ring that night and his legs looked fresh, while pacquiao's looked tired in the 6th round. I don't know how he trained for that fight, but he didn't appear conditioned as well as he used to be to me. He looked like an aging fighter next to a guy that was older than him.
