Leal was always a warrior.
he probably should have retired after his fight with Gradovich, it was brutal.
just watch the end of it.

like some of us mentioned, Leal was taken away to the E.R. on a stretcher in just his very last KO loss to gradovich last year where he suffered many of the same symptoms so he definitely had some kind of problem that unfortunately his team didn't seem to think much of.
I wonder why do these deaths almost always seem to happen at the lower weights only? I've never even heard of a heavyweight being killed and the only time I've heard of anyone at a higher weight being killed anytime in the past 10 years or so is the guy that Kovalev killed at 170-175lbs or whatever it was. I can only assume it's because the lower weights get hit far more often as they throw far more punches and thus it serves to prove the theory that one punch KO's don't do as much damage as repeated blows which is why UFC/MMA is considered medically a far safer sport than boxing because when a KO happens it's usually instant and one punch

RIP for another warrior...that's what happened if they keep hitting you at the back of your head!Comment

We can never forget what a dangerous, brutal sport this is.
All my condolences to his loved ones, as little comfort as they are.Comment
