Very sad about this. I mentioned about Leal getting into a comma last Saturday and I did it in the thread were some people were criticizing Alvarado's decision to stop after Mike had given all and it was very dangerous to continue. I hope the keyboard warriors consider how dangerous boxing can be and stop using the damn word "quitter". Just remember that boxers are also human beings with families and dreams trying to make an honest living and many times they are risking their health and lives.

Man, that's sad to hear. See, now you see why a guy throwing in the towel to save himself from additional punishment after already taking a beating isn't a bad idea. The "fans" criticize a guy for looking out for his own health and call him a coward when one extra punch could be the last one.Comment

I don't know the circumstances of Frankie's last fight, but I agree with you completely, Math. This is a dangerous sport. Every now and then we're reminded of the ultimate consequences...and that's not to speak of the countless former boxers walking around with irreparable brain damage.Man, that's sad to hear. The question though is why are lower weight guys dehydrated more? In theory they shouldn't be. Every single weight class has to make weight (other than heavyweights) so why would lower weight classes be more pressured to dehydrate?Comment

It's actually happened much more often, you just don't hear about the little unheard of guys. Earlier this year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FGyiiziM1s this 17 year old pro boxer died http://boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Fight:1772799 and I think just this past month or a month or two ago some other Thai or Malaysian boxer died as well. Honestly there are many boxer deaths per year, you just don't hear most of them cus they're unheard of guys like the aboveComment
