like some of us mentioned, Leal was taken away to the E.R. on a stretcher in just his very last KO loss to gradovich last year where he suffered many of the same symptoms so he definitely had some kind of problem that unfortunately his team didn't seem to think much of.

I wonder why do these deaths almost always seem to happen at the lower weights only? I've never even heard of a heavyweight being killed and the only time I've heard of anyone at a higher weight being killed anytime in the past 10 years or so is the guy that Kovalev killed at 170-175lbs or whatever it was. I can only assume it's because the lower weights get hit far more often as they throw far more punches and thus it serves to prove the theory that one punch KO's don't do as much damage as repeated blows which is why UFC/MMA is considered medically a far safer sport than boxing because when a KO happens it's usually instant and one punch

Great point, I honestly think it has a lot to do with cutting excessive weight. Most of these fighters are fighting 20lbs below there actual weight. Now for the fighters in the 60's and 70's they fought to often without letting their body heal, and 15 3 minute rounds fights.

                Very sad.

Hope his family can get through these tough times,
they should set up a paypal or something. We can send a couple bucks to help with the funeral.

Every little bit helps and the guy wasn't a millionaire.

Just found this page they set up for the Family.

Every little bit helps, even $5 like if you were to buy this warrior a beer at a bar.
