Does HBO talk about Gatti-Ward too much?

What I'm trying to get at, is does HBO talk about these guys/ and there fights too much? I mean lets go over this

-Jim Lampley created the "Gatti List", they created a documentary on there trilogy, (which I actually enjoyed) they invite Mickey Ward to the IBHOF even though he's not a hall of famer, and imo they played a big role in getting arturo into the hall of fame. And it seems like EVERY SINGLE DAMN TIME an exchange is happening, either Lampley or Merchant has gotta bring up "SHADES OF GATTI-WARD!!"

Is it a little excessive? And I'm I the only one that's gets annoyed by it?

Definately. HBO are always talking about them and even in the Bradley V Marquez fight they mention Gatti V Ward. In a fight which is the opposite to a Gatti - Ward fight.

Yeah man I have no idea how they can compare those two fights... I mean don't get me twisted I love me some gatti-ward but it seems like HBO is constantly selling there trilogy like there will be a gatti-ward 4!!! I don't get it!

Yeah they talk about them way too much,,,

lets be real,, gatti and ward were 2 journeymen contenders with exciting styles,,,
hagler-hearns was at least 2 ATGs in their prime, same for mab-morales

even castillo-corrales and marquez-vasquez was for titles,,

these guys were just a glorified version of espn fnf TBH

great fight but i think it gets overblown

Damn.... hit it right on the nail. I pretty much agree. I hate saying it because of the backlash, but Gatti shouldn't be in the HOF. very good fighter but not great. may he rip tho of course, but all fighters eventually die and that doesnt earn them a spot in the IBHOF.

I agree to a certain degree,,

the only reason i think gatti should be in, is because he was in like half a dozen fights of the year,,, Nobody has ever done that, plus he won a couple of titles, but was basically a punching bag for elite guys like oscar and floyd..

I dont think he has HOF talent, but you cant take away that he was in FOTY from 1995-03, pretty much every year,,, that is the only reason i think he belongs,, nobody has ever done that in the modern era

I can see where your coming from, never looked at it that way. He was in many FOTY and classic fights (ivan robinson, manfredy, ward). like i said, you aren't a bum if you win two world titles. i dont think like that. obviously you gotta be somebody to become a world champ. but i will always look as him as a very good fighter, not a great one.

Their talent wasnt extraordinary, but what they did in the ring together was indeed something really special. One of the great rivalries, and their first fight was one for the ****in ages.

Saying that, I was and am a huge Gatti fan, but why aren't they talking about Morales-Barrera like that?

Morales-Barrera is up there for me for sure, castillo-corrales is another one. or hell, there own guys pac-marquez have probably one of the most famous rivalries ever.

but no, to HBO everything lacks in comparision to gatti-ward. HBO thinks Gatti-ward is the perfect fight, which I'm not sure I agree with.

                    yeah very true

Gatti-ward was great but no better than

                    holyfield-bowe
                    MAB-morales
                    manny-jmm
                    marquez-vasquez

                    Castillo-corrales 1 was a much better fight than gatti-ward 1
