Nobody, they just can't stand to see a fighter they deem as "unslick" get attention. There seems to be a lot more than there used to be too.

He is alright but he is going to lose when he fights a guy who is willing to clinch him up when he gets in his wheel house as opposed to just eatting shots

Not really only if it is excessive and you aren't fighting, it is a part of the sport like it or not. It doesn't need to be Wlad level which was excessive as he was leading with the clinch almost half the time~ you mix outside fighting, hitting Provodnikov on the way in and then clinch before he can really dig in he loses. Same with all the guys like that Margarito was the same way~

Plus if you ain't cheatin you ain't tryin, on that level

i guess it depends on your definition of excessive. every now and again ok that's understandable but wlad-povetkin, garcia-matthysse were farces. every time their opponent came close they just hugged. unfortunately a lot of the big money fighters use this tactic so the refs let them. remember when berto got penalized early on against collazo for clinching? got his azz beat and instead of a stinker of a fight we got a classic.

the big money in boxing doesn't care about fight quality, only about protecting their investments so they stack the deck and get refs that allow this nonsense. if alvarado clinched everytime prov got close he prob wins. that's why i have no desire to see garcia-prov we already know what's going to happen. the stinky cheating fighters need their own league. call it the showtime fighting league for sissy fighters.

I don't think the networks/promoters are hyping any of these guys. It's people in these forums trying to latch onto these guys and overhyping them in these fantasy matchups.

Not saying he was shook, but I think he knew going in that it wasn't his night. Didn't look healthy at the weigh-in so maybe camp didn't go well.

Regardless, I think Ruslan is being underrated a little bit. People are on about his lack of skills, but he just out pointed and beat down a sound fighter AND boxer. And also did some damage to Bradley who spent 6 weeks in the hospital after!

Let's not forget who wanted it at 140.
Don't forget how seriously injured Bradley was after that fight. He was seen talking to a telephone pole a couple weeks after the fight. He even took off his clothes at Walmart and laid on a law chair. Someone asked him what he was doing and he told them he was enjoying the beach.

I like to see guys play to win period, letting another guy beat you just because is pretty dumb. Garcia-Matthysse wasn't close to excessive there was plenty of fighting going on so that was smart, Wlad was excessive because there was no fighting (but that was partly Povetkin's fault because he wasn't exactly busy and when it was clear the ref was doing nothing throw Wlad down a few times do anything except allowing yourself to get roughed up).

Winning isn't everything it is the only thing, and if a guy can't deal with something so simple a guy is literally ****** not to use that tactic without having to go Wlad which was clearly way over the line.

Alvarado nearly beat Rios twice. We as posters can't be excited for a big KO fight on Saturday night? I feel good for Provo getting his belt, but I haven't forgotten Herrera mauling him on FNF either. He didn't get beat by superior boxing.
