Leonard was entertaing as hell against Duran in the rematch. He show boated and hammered Duran with combinations when Duran rushed in.
And against Hagler he threw great combinations to fight his way off the ropes when he could, plus he landed the cleaner punches.

Its a myth that he stole both fights.

And what Hopkins is saying isnt true. Brawls and KO's are what has always sold in the sport. Only when you get into it can you appreciate the smart boxers like Floyd.
Its not that today, boxing skills are being called boring, its that fact that fighters like Floyd, think they can win every fight without taking risks or going for the KO. And they can. But in the past, even great boxers would be more aggressive.

Well he has a good point. Why go out and risk you self and brawl when you can just out box a guy for 12 rounds? Don't get me wrong if you see a safe opening to KO someone then take it but otherwise why force a slug fest if you have great technical skills to beat someone? At the end of the day when your career is over you may be called a great fighter but your the one suffering with brain damage that you and your family has to deal with just to "please" boxing fans who are not living your life or have to surround them selves by you.

Wars a fun to watch but lets be honest, after these fights are over you have yourself wondering how much long lasting damage did that fighter take. Because people were wondering about this same thing with Bradley the way he ******ly fought Ruslan. He gained damn near nothing from that fight but people to realize that he has a good chin. Other then that a lot of people still hate him.

if you don't please the fans then don't expect the same.

Your missing the point I am making. The point I am making is something called respect. You don't have to like a style but you should respect the skills behind it. I will be honest I love Mayweather's skills but he can be more offensive. I've noticed in his fights that he usually has his opponents so mentally broken and frustrated that he be more aggressive in the later rounds if he really wants to but he tends to play it safe unless someone is really on top of him. But I refuse to accept a guy like Devon Alexander who does nothing but throw a combination and then clinch every single time right after. That is a fighter I can't respect because its not even smart clinching.

            WRONG.

            BHop.

            WRONG.

SRL and SRR were far from being boring. They were incredibly slick but also exciting. Both used head and body movement to deflect punches while delivering destructive combinations. And when they knew they had someone on the line, they went for the kill.

Hopkins is the most boring fighter I have ever seen. You can't pay me enough to watch his fights. I don't even stream his fights, coz I don't like his boring a.ss.

However, he has a point. People calling a fighter like Floyd boring, are just ****ing ******. Floyd displays the art and science of boxing in every fight. He should be praised for that.

Leonard had lightning speed to the head and body, knew how to finish a guy he had hurt and fought with heart and soul. Electrifying skills and personality. It takes a pure idiot who has never seen him fight to call him boring. In his prime he was a whirlwind.

this is a violet sport, people pay to see damages.

respect are reserved for fighters with big balls.

He calls the names of some fighters that would be considered boring today. and he speaks on how taking those punches affect the fighters outside the ring. It was a great interview.
It's not just black fighters, it's slick fighters or defensive.

Some have a shell defence like Abraham, who people say are boring.
Wlad is boring, because he is defensive and rarely gets hit flush.

The general fans love a tear up, and that is how it is and always will be.
