What I don't get is ¿why ref Tony Weeks didn't want to accept the corner stopping the fight? & had to hear it directly from Alvarado.. Even thou Alvarado was fighting back, but he was getting pummeled & staggered & his shots didn't really have any effects on Provo.. Weeks is a good ref & I thought he was gonna stop the fight & not wait for the corner or the fighter to say so..

alavarado was doing well when he was boxing. when he brawled is when he got caught with the harder shot.he did not quit. this is a violent sport that can damage your brain before anything.this sport is no suicide welcoming party.i'm glad he did'nt come out for the next round.he lives to fight another day.

But he did quit, tony weeks asked him did he want to continue and mike said no. Lets not sugarcoat it mike quit point blank and I dont say that in a demeaning or disrespectful way but its the truth. Ruslan outwilled him and made him quit on his stool.

Provodnikov led on all three official scorecards, winning 98-90, 96-92, 97-90.

One cannot outbox Ruslan -- he cuts the ring very well and comes over and over again...
One can only outland or outwork Provodnikov.
(Though, I guess FMJr would have less problems, but I can't be sure.)

I thought the stamina issues and the altitude would have affected Provodnikov but it didn't even phase him. There is no way Alvarado would have won the fight by boxing. The pressure from Provodnikov was too great. He had to stand and fight. Towards the end the body punches were really starting to fold Alvarado. I might be wrong on this but I could swear I heard Alvarado wheezing badly going back to his corner at the end of the 10th. Alvarado is a tough guy but he did the right thing by staying in his corner. He was taking the kind of beating that can end your career.

Ruslan was my favorite ESPN fighter and I had high hopes then he disappears and appears on HBO like he was thrown to the lions in the Bradley fight to make Bradley look good and have an easy fight,,,HA !!!!!!!!

Bradley went down from a first round Knockdown and was about out from that and Ruslan was ROBBED

                    but

NOT in this great fight last night where he had to make adjustments and did !!

The Siberian Rocky is AWESOME !!!!!!!!!

HURRAY for the SIBERINAN EXPRESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Provodnikov beat the fight out of Mike. Ruslan is what you call a true pressure fighter. I don't buy that Bradley intentionally went to war with Ruslan...he forced him to fight.

There are guys that stalk in boxing but Provodnikov is one of the few that is able to pressure you and force you to fight his fight. If you look at rounds 2 and 3 when Mike tried to move and bounce and hop around. there was no way that was going to last 12 rounds.
