Weeks used to be really good. Seems like the older he gets, the more he turns into Joe Cortez.
Referee Weeks is a gutless coward!

The rules are you have to be up by 10. He wasn't. Weeeks said the words 10 and he wasn't up.
Do you want slower counts for fighters after they get knocked down as well?Comment

more people would of btched and complained it was stopped to early and controversy would of erupted. That was a great call we got a definitive result which we might of got

Yeah, I don't want the fight to be stopped on a technicality - Mike's intention was obviously to get up late in the count.
However, asking Mike himself to admit he didn't want to fight anymore was slightly off.Comment

Glad he took back the ten count so we didn't have any controversy like Scott vs Chisora. I'm also cool with him wanting to hear it from Mike. I wanted to hear it myself come from him. So he can't say "oh corner stopped it but I wanted to fight still" in an attempt to dodge the quitting backlash.Comment

you dudes b*tch and moan about everything damn, bunch of crybabies ,
.
instead of hearing mike cry for years how he was getting up he let mike continue and he got stopped now there's no controversy it was a great decision.Comment

I have mix feelings about Weeks asking Alvarado if he wanted to stop. It kind of puts the fighter on the spot for something that should be the responsibility of the trainer. There's a stigma behind fighters saying no mas so ideally it should not be up to them to decide when to stop. On the other hand, I think Weeks saw the corner wasn't looking out for the health of the fighter so took the responsibility on his own hands.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 10-19-2013, 11:20 PM.Comment

Yeah, he was out. Weeks just gave Alvarado a free couple of extra rounds brain damage. Thanks for nothing Tony.Comment
