It would take a skilled boxer, not a plodding or limited puncher, to beat Provodnikov. Alvarado is not a skilled boxer. That is why he lost.

I am sure that, before the clock strikes midnight central time, at least one of the idiots who posts on this site is going to create a post saying that Provodnikov would KO Mayweather and Mayweather is ducking Provodnikov. Provodnikov would stand no chance against Mayweather. He should fight Matthysse or Alvarez next. Unfortunately, it sounds like his promoter has already aligned Provodnikov with Top Rank Promotions, so he will continue to fight limited punchers like Pacquaio and Rios in his next few fights.

Good win by Provodnikov. Unfortunately, all it proves is that he is capable of beating a second tier fighter.

Out of all the match ups in TR for Ruslan I would like to see him vs Rios who would stand his ground like Alvarado should have, he might have still lost but he would of atleast have himself a chance to hurt Ruslan.

I'm happy for Ruslan though because he deserves it. He was very gracious in his defeat to Bradley (unlike Marquez) and now he's world champ!

The ref's an idiot because Mike's corner was insisting that the fight had to be stopped because he had nothing left and the ref insisted that Mike tell him instead. WTF?!?! SMH @ HBO fights. Mike fought foolishly like in the 1st Rios fight. He looked very effective when he was sticking and moving in the 1st half but got macho and fought too close and started getting hurt when Ruslan's punches began having an accumulative effect. Ruslan wasn't hurting him initially but broke him down.

It was the HBO face off that convinced me that Ruslan would win, The guy just kept coming. Alvarado got punked tonight in my opinion, he tried to stay away, box and just got beat down in the end.
