Fair and square? Far from it. As I've explained in the first post, Khan's camp for the Garcia fight was one of the worst of his entire career. Freddie Roach was in the Philippines training Pacquiao for Bradley, Ariza and Khan had parted ways. He basically trained himself for that fight, his new strength and conditioning coach, Ruben, wasn't even a boxing guy, he was involved much more in athletic training. So the reality is that Khan trained himself for around 75% of that camp. Fair and square? Not a chance.
To top it off, Angel Garcia dropped a lot of racial slurs which took Khan out of his game plan and made him fight much more aggressive than usual. That was Khan's own anger to blame but still, it did add to all the other factors.
Why do you think Garcia didn't accept the immediate rematch? He knew he was lucky to escape with the W that time because a well-trained Khan would have beaten him relatively easily.
